thought this might help out!--cross posted [06 Jun 2007|08:10am]

Hello fellow brides,

As I've been planning my wedding (May 17, 2008!), I came across this fantastic website with great discounts. http://www.militarybride.com/store/index.asp

I called to check because my FH and I are not in the military. They prefer to have military-related clients, but it's flexible. If you, your FH, or someone in your family (or future in-laws in my case) are military, you can take advantage of this! I hope this helps someone out!

Where are some nice places and not TOO expensive to get married at in the Jackson area? :-)

Do you have to make an appointment before going into bridal shops to try on gowns?

Save-the-Dates!! [18 Jan 2006|12:35pm]

[ mood | excited ]

Finally, a post about something that's been done, and not something that I'm just thinking about! w00t.

I designed these one night last week since it's getting down to the wire for getting them out, and had them printed on the badass printer at a friend's house a couple of nights ago.

Save the Date! :DCollapse )

Intro [14 Sep 2005|01:39pm]

Hello all y'all. :) I guess technically I shouldn't be here, since I'm married now, but I wish there was a board like this when I was planning. So I think I'll stick around and bug you with how things went for my wedding. Since I've now been there and done that, and since we are all mostly beginners at planning a wedding, I hope my comments will be useful.
The info:
DH and I were married in Charlotte, NC on September 4th, 2005. We have been blissfully married for 10 days now.
The ceremony was gorgeous. The reception was nice, and we managed to pull it off, but it could just as easily been a total disaster.
I'll post pictures once I get them back from the photographer.
Good luck with your planning!

Anyone know a DJ? [25 Jul 2005|08:14am]

Anyone know a DJ in tha Jackson, MS area (or that will travel to Jackson)  I need one for my wedding (Oct. 1).. and one that wont charge an arm and a leg.  I can supply all of the music if need be.  I'm looking for someone that's energetic and will get people on the dance floor.  They must have thier own sound and light equipment.  I'm looking to play mainly new wave music with a few top 40 songs thrown in..   Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Here is the list of songs we are playing at our reception.

We needed 3 hours worth of music.

I was forbidden from using any Brand New, and The Flys- Got You Where I Want You. I was BARELY able to get Bright Eyes in there. (I did use two Brand New songs, but they aren't really Brand New songs) Oh and I wasn't really allowed to use The Cure. Lame but understandable. (All those bands/songs are connected to the ex who is still a close friend)

Intro Post [22 Jul 2005|02:57pm]

Hey!!! Many of you prob know me from weddingplans.. anyhoo here's the basic info:

Name: Sumati (soadchik)
Groom: Brian
The Day: October 1, 2005  (eek! only 2 months to go!!!)
Place: Jackson, MS
Theme/Colors: Fuchsia, Orange, Red, & Yellow.. with Indian accents

I've gotten pretty much everything planned so far.. we still have to find a reasonably priced DJ (so if any MS brides know any?) and that's pretty much it besides some small things here and there!  :)  We expect to have 100-160 people.. we are inviting around 170.

The First Post! [18 Jul 2005|04:44pm]

Ok ladies, I'm wondering how many of you are doing a Grooms cake? We want to, but I'm confused on if there should be enough for every guest as with the wedding cake, or if we should do it more "for show"? Help!
